Hexayurt & Shelter Footings Design using 3 way treble slot concrete fence posts with Extenson for Decking

Hexayurt & Shelter Footings Design using 3 way treble slot concrete fence posts with Extension for Decking.

Note: this design is not tested in the field yet, whether a buidings weight will crack the fence post is yet to be tested. If it does crack, a galvanised metal purlin can be inserted underneath fence post to spread weight. It is assumed foundation will be on soil / sand or similar

The ain is to avoid digging labour intensive footings, and have a movable low impact system, compatible with the hexayurt. It is heavy to avoid structure tipping over.

Experiments with rebar sunk over fence post into ground for extra stabilisation, are in last pics

The drawing show 4 ft 6" fence posts used, but I would use 9 ft ones as 9ft posts are not much more expensive than 4ft 6" ones.

Overlap can be covered with decking,. 4 ft bottom edge of 6 x 8' x 4' sheets used as walls in hexayurt design)

.  The drawing is for having an extra inside frame if required (black sq in hexayurt drawing) . upright can be attached to edge of post underneath fence post or perhaps rebarred.

If the 3 way fence post is placed with  its flat end on floor, this has 2 side slots & 1 on top to attach a resting floor & upright wall.
